So last Thursday we had literally just booked two weeks of room rental in Charleston So. Carolina when we received at least a dozen texts from you, recipients of the post, warning us about the impending class 4 hurricane due to land in Charleston about the same time we were. Sharon and I don’t watch tv and seldom listen to weather forecasts so we were in a state of ignorance about the storm.
So in a way, you saved our lives, or at least our vacation plans, with your warnings of grave concern. We immediately switched gears and were able to get a refund on the rooms. And now we’ve altered our plans a bit west of the storm, we’re going to Louisville, KY. We may get some residual storms but will certainly miss the brunt of the hurricane. We have only booked a week in Louisville so have yet to come up with a plan for the remaining two weeks of our vacation, but we’re not afraid and will certainly have fun. Sharon and I always have fun on the road.
You won’t be receiving posts while we’re gone but you can see what fish is arriving by going to the Market’s Facebook page. I’m hoping we’ll have a few interesting tales when we get back. Take care.
Tomorrow we have the standard fare arriving, including Halibut and Malpeque oysters.
Fish arriving tomorrow:
- Alaskan Cod, flash frozen at sea
- east coast halibut
- Sustainable Shetland Salmon
- Lemon Sole
- Icelandic Arctic Char
- 16/20 Wild Gulf Shrimp, fresh
- 10/20 Dry Scallops
- Malpeque oysters
