The way we Roll

Hi Folks-

I haven’t talked to you since the staff party and it was a big league event, by our normal standards. First, everyone brought something delightful to eat, there may have been a few slackers but only a few and the rest made up for the shortage. Unsurprisingly, our staff can really cook! Sharon and I supplied, as we do every year, all the lobsters anyone could eat and all the medium rare ribeye steak. We, as is our goal, were able to send people home with whole cooked lobsters, and we compared notes this week on ways in which we used those.

Most importantly, it was a time to relax and communicate between me and Sharon, our staff members and their partners, in a way that just doesn’t happen at the store during working hours. Friendships that were always there were solidified, new friendships were forged and secrets were divulged. We all are really very close and we all enjoyed ourselves immeasurably.

In vino veritas is how I think it goes, and that certainly was a factor in breaking down those barriers we as humans always carry with us. Certainly our inhibitions took a backseat to expressing how we really felt about each other. The recently legalized use of marijuana probably didn’t hurt either. We all had a very good time, just like you’re supposed to.
