Special ordering fish and jigsaw meditation

Hi Folks-

What a nice weekend! Some how I really resonate with Labor Day. I wish we observed the German tradition of the entire country, or in this case state, taking a week off every summer. I am sure some service industry still works but I think it would be super cool.

I mostly did jigsaw puzzles over the weekend. Peter and I hung out, didn’t really see our kids which was unusual, made great food, which is pretty usual and just relaxed. I bought a 1000 piece puzzle on Friday after work and I am happy to say I finished it today. I am a big reader but somehow my mind can still wander to my “to do” list or various stressors when I am reading. Not so with a jigsaw puzzle, the challenge of color and size and overall spatial relations just keeps my mind engaged, hours can pass, very meditative. So yay, I feel rested after a couple days off.

We will have fish tomorrow and again on Friday. This is the beautiful shoulder season in Vermont. Not Summer, not quite fall, a little bit of both so get some fish and grill, times a wasting.

So it’s a short fish week for us getting it in on Wednesday and highlights the benefits of special ordering. We don’t carry all the things all the time but you can order almost all the thing any time by simply calling the day before you’d like them and ordering it!
