Season for Diets

Hi Folks-

So Sharon and I are treating ourselves to a three day vacation from the store, starting tonight. Sharon has a new 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, and a new book called “Eat Vegan Before 6:00” a cookbook by Mark Bittman, one of her favorite chefs. I have my romance novels.

The basic premise of the book is that you eat a vegan diet before 6pm, then eat whatever you want for dinner, and very little if any snacking. Reading diet books is one of our typical responses to the end of a long winter. Anyway, we have marinated flank steak and roasted potatoes and

broccolini for dinner tonight and nobody is taking that away from us.

I have my eye out for shad roe and for soft shell crabs but haven’t found either yet. We have halibut, gray sole and Irish Point oysters from Prince Edward Island coming in tomorrow as well as all the standards.
