prepping the pig

Hi Folks-

Sharon hired someone today. It sounds like she likes cooking, and is good with people. Prime prerequisites for the job, so we’re very hopeful. Now I can have Sharon’s undivided attention again. It’s not like she’s been neglecting me over these last weeks while we’ve been short handed. It’s just that I like her with me.

Tonight I’m alone because Sharon went to the store to meet Allie. They are going to attach the whole pig Alec is roasting Saturday to the spit we’ve hitherto used to roast a whole lamb and a pig for Alec’s first pig roast last year. Sharon was last seen searching for her needles, (big curved needles used for carpets, I think), so she can sew up the pig’s carcass after the pig is stuffed. Another grand cooking project. Allie is cooking the beast low and slow, beginning in the early morning hours the night before the roast.

Fish arriving tomorrow:

  • Alaskan Cod, flash frozen at sea
  • Alaskan King Salmon
  • Yellowfin Tuna
  • Dayboat yellow tail sole
  • Sustainable Shetland Salmon

  • Swordfish
  • Icelandic Arctic Char
  • 16/20 Wild Gulf Shrimp
  • Littleneck Clams

See you at the Store!
