Lovely Labor Day and the Fish tomorrow

Hi Folks-

So the weather report for the fall (long range, I looked) is that its going to be slightly warmer than average so I think this means we need to keep our outdoorsy, summer grilling vibe going as long as possible. You with me?

We had a lovely weekend and hope you folks did as well. We spent time with friends near the water and managed to sneak in a small family barbecue so I feel like we did the weekend justice. Damn it’s nice to have a day when the store is closed (five days a year, something to look forward to :-).

Quite a few disappointed fish seekers at the market today. The Boston Fish market was closed Monday so no fish today. While I realize that’s disappointing it should also be reassuring…Our fish is always fresh and if the fish market in Boston isn’t open we don’t have fish!

Finally got to watch Chelsea play in a softball game tonight, very last one of the playoffs. I’ve been trying to get to game for weeks now. They didn’t win so I’m hoping I’m not some kind of bad luck charm, I’ll just have to go earlier next year!

The fish tomorrow:

  • King Salmon

  • Dayboat Haddock

  • Icelandic Arctic Char

  • Swordfish

  • Alaskan Cod. Frozen at sea

  • Hake

  • Shetland Salmon

  • Yellow tail sole, dayboat

  • 16/20 Shrimp

  • Pemaquid Oysters, ME
