Local Greens

Hi Folks-

I have brought back out my boots, gloves and scarf, I am not longer freezing. I do wish the weather was a little more helpful with my “not freezing” goal!

Peter and I had a great time in Portland. Maine, of course, was cold too but the change in venue was nice for both of us. We did get some goodies at the trade show but I’ll talk about those later when they are actually at the store.

Two great restaurants, Fore Street, a perennial favorite and Bayou Kitchen, a funky little Cajun breakfast place that was new to us and delicious.

We’ve got local greens in the store from 1000 Stone Farm in Brookfield; arugula, mixed lettuce and spinach. I must admit my “eat you damn vegetables” diet has been suffering as the cold weather drags on but the greens have really been helping. I encourage you to buy some they are absolutely inspiring!

Still favorite salad, arugula, crumbled blue cheese, and a sprinkling of the dried fruits, nuts and seeds with a dash of a mustardy maple balsamic dressing.

As we are working our way into the warmer weather more fish of more varieties will be available but remember if you want something special, we can usually get it for you. Call us on Monday or Thursday for the biggest variety delivered Tuesday and Friday.
