it’s fall damn it

Hi Folks-

So it’s time for that big Fall shift, when you’re wearing a shirt you’ve been wearing all summer but what you really want is your wool sweater which you think is in a bureau upstairs but it might still be in the trunk of your car from a soccer game last April. When you say it’s too early in the year to turn on the furnace but heck, you’re getting cold. When that lamb-roast you’ve been playing with the idea of all summer now is at the point where you have to make the call or you’re going to get caught short by the weather and not have it at all.

I’m sure things will come back to plumb and I’ll accept Fall and part with the Summer. I’m going to avoid the depression that somehow goes with this Fall shift. And we probably will decide to have the lamb-roast. And I’m going to organize my sweaters so that they’re at hand and then I’ll be all set.

Fish arriving tomorrow:

  • Alaskan Cod, flash frozen at sea
