How to find the best recipes

Hi Folks-

Not feeling on the money tonight so a list of my favorite go to food web sites (in no particular order) and the details of the fish and specials this week.

Food52A web site that runs a different food contest every week of the year, entrants from all over the world and both judges winners and popular winners each week.

Cooking New York Times – A relative newcomer, but about 17k recipes, some great cooking know how and some nifty recipe box options. Almost always fool proof recipes.

All RecipesA user recipe site which means you get a little wider variety, maybe a smidge less reliability and a few more ads but I’ve found the reviews are very helpful in steering you to the good stuff . If you are looking to recreate a favorite recipe or to get a broad selection of options, the place to go.

Epicurious – A classic, really one of the originators of great recipe websites, lots of bells and whistles. Definitely pay attention to the fork rating system. I have cooked a ton of great stuff from here. My one compliant is that I signed up with an email address many years ago that is long gone and despite my best efforts I can’t get back into my recipe box. Chelsea turned me on to this and I have had some good luck with it. Similar to “All Recipes. Good notes, user ratings and recipe box function. I often think, “Okay I want to make Paella,” and then start reading, I usually hit up most of these sites and then put together what I think will work for me.

The Food Reference Site For True food geeks, this site is not beautiful. Food trivia, incredibly comprehensive references (look up anything food related and this guy has it), national food festival, food history, recipes, you name it. Sometimes when I need inspiration I just go wander around on his pages
