Sharon is taking a nap after another long day at the store. She’s not getting much help from me with running things, as I’m in a high risk category in terms of catching the virus. I do what I can in the way of keeping our house clean and providing good dinners and welcome homes to
Sharon. Last night I made beef barley soup, which is one of her favorites, and tonight we’re going with salmon and green sauce, some rice and spinach.
Sharon reports that while things were quite busy in the beginning part of the week they have slowed down considerably as the week has gone on. While things are uncertain it’s all the more important to call in advance with your fish orders, so that you get what fish you want and so that we don’t over-buy. For tomorrow I’ve made a pretty standard order, except that I did not order scallops or sole. We will have scallops next Tuesday and all the other standard offerings for tomorrow.
Our staff continues to make the store as antiseptic as possible and they deserve a lot of credit for the quality of the service you receive at the market. Sharon says it’s still the happy, relaxed place to shop it’s always been, and we still have the standard grocery items we’ve always offered as well all the beer and wine selections we carry. So please do what you can to support us, including telling your friends to come in if they’ve never tried our store. Remember too, to honor the safe social distancing guidelines practiced by all who know what they are doing.
Take care, and eat well. The fish arriving tomorrow is as follows:
- Alaskan Cod, flash frozen at sea
- Sustainable Shetland Salmon
- Dayboat Haddock
- Icelandic Arctic Char
- 16/20 Wild Gulf Shrimp
See you at the Store!
