Hi Folks-

Beautiful days of summer and some how my heart is looking forward to fall. End of summer/fall is absolutely the most bountiful food season and here it has the added thrill of being close to the last of the local food. It makes me want to store nuts, can fruits, salt meat, burying carrots in sand in my cold room in the basement, put a crate of apples in the attic and of course throw a huge dinner party enjoying all of the current plenty.

Honestly I own a store so very little of that will be happening, even if I didn’t there are other stores, I suppose ;-). That’s what I want to do though.

There is some serious bounty of fish this time of year as well. We’ll have King Salmon tomorrow straight from our lovely west coast, mussels from Prince Edward Island, Bluefish from the northeast coast (that’s where they are running now) and all of the regulars!

Fish tomorrow:

  • Haddock

  • Icelandic Arctic Char

  • Swordfish

  • Blue Fish

  • Halibut

  • King Salmon

  • Alaskan Cod. Frozen at sea

  • Shetland Salmon

  • PEI Mussels

  • 10/20 Dry Scallops

  • 16/20 Wild Gulf Shrimp

  • Pemaquid Oysters, ME
