Anchovies as defense

Hi Folks-

So here we are on a rather grim Monday, thank goodness the weekend was beautiful! As usual we ate pretty well, including a fall off the wagon into the Mad Taco, pretty healthy though and I just couldn’t bring myself to cook yesterday. It hits me like that sometimes, after being on a deep cooking run for weeks, it’s just over, I don’t want to cook.

I’m grumbling my way back into it today. One thing about crappy weather is that cooking is a comfort, so there’s that. There was also Halibut at the market, another good thing. I’m either going to cook broccoli with a zippy little anchovy pepper sauce or a broccoli rice with the same ingredients, maybe with some 1000 stone farm cherry tomatoes for color and taste. I think I need the anchovies to zap me back into the game. I’ll let you know how it works out.

Just a head’s up The Uncommon Market will be closed from noon on August 13th for our STAFF PARTY!!! I love our staff and I love hosting them at our house and making terrific food and telling them all how much I appreciate them!

So we have local mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, greens and blueberries. All organic!

And we have anchovies.
