A week off and a great ham and lentil recipe!

Hi Folks-

Positively the most exciting news is that Peter and I are taking a week off, starting April 2 :-)!! The store, of course, will continue to bubble along with our talented staff, thanks in advance to all of them for the extra effort. We have a few small trips planned but mostly a very much desired stay-cation.

I hope you all enjoyed the lovely weather this weekend and whatever version of Easter you might do. We ended up having a family birthday party on Saturday night with ham, having forgotten that Easter was Sunday. When a mild inquiry came from a family member regarding Easter I assured them that Saturday was Easter for us!

Here’s a great quick recipe for left over ham from Food 52. We had it yesterday and today. An Indian style lentil stew with a southern twist (ham and jalapenos), it is delicious! Check it out here: Curried red lentil soup with jalapeno, ham and lemon Very quick to make as well which bodes well for using the ham as a weeknight dish right now.
