Peter and I switched off this week, so he wrote Monday and I am writing to you tonight. It worked out well because I brought in five new wines yesterday that I wanted to tell you about. Do remember WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAY AUGUST 18th for our annual staff party so Peter and I can show them the love!
As for the wines…Three of them are from Ercole, a Peidmont vineyard. There is a white, a red and a rose. These are quite tasty inexpensive wines that should suit your entertaining needs for the next month or so. At $14.59 for a liter you are getting a great table wine. As usual with our wines, they are a little outside the norm and always drink at least a pay grade up!
I was also searching for something to replace the Sushi Selection (French Alsatian white) which I love and have turned a bunch customer onto. So I think I found it. I tried several wines from the same region but just didn’t get what I was looking for. I ended up with a really interesting blend from the Willamette Valley, Brooks, Amycas. At 16.69 the price point is very similar and I think the wine is too. Full, rich white, with a hint of spice, and lots of body. Give it a try.
And then because I was trying things I found this great little Italian red from a tiny coop in the Aosta Valley. I love this wine. It’s a blend of Italian grapes I had never heard of (Picontendro, Gros Vien and Pumin) and it is at once bright and interesting, old world style and something I would be happy to gift. $15.69
All new wines are located to the left of the wine wall in the wooden rack. Viva la vino!
