The Uncommon Market Soup Schedule ~

Peter making soupWe have two hot soups a day and vary them with our own home made soups and occasionally a prepared soup from either Moosewood Organics or the Boston Chowder house. Peter is our soup savant and he continues to amaze us all with his new creations. Our soups change somewhat depending on the weather and what ingredients we have on hand but here is our tentative schedule for soups:fresh soup

Mondays: Creamy Chunky Tomato – everything you ever wanted in a tomato soup and more: Velvety cream, fresh tomatoes, San Marzano tomatoes and small bites of fresh vegetables. Savory comfort food.

Tuesdays: Gumbo Day, our Swordfish Gumbo with succulent chunks of swordfish or our Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo, both with red and green peppers, long grain basmati rice, onions, chicken stock and our secret seasonings including file powder. We like our gumbo so much we stopped even trying anybody else’s.

Wednesdays: Rockport Lobster Bisque, from the Boston Chowder house. We tried it, we loved it and so do our customers! Creamy lobster bisque with lobster in every bite.

Thursdays: Spicy Soup Day, either Spicy Meatball soup, a tomato and chicken stock base with vegetables and savory bites of spicy meat ball or our Spicy Black Bean Salsa and Chicken Soup, two great Peter creations.

Fridays: The Best for Last. If you haven’t had the Uncommon Market Fish chowder you are really missing out. Peter makes it with our fresh fish, and this New England style chowder is as classic as they come. We use what we have so you might get grouper or halibut, haddock or red snapper, ocean perch or tilapia or most likely, some of all of the above. Subtly different each week, it is always a winner.
