Night duty

Hi Folks-

We’re in one of those transition periods caused by people leaving their positions at The Uncommon Market. As soon as we know someone is leaving we place ads in the classifieds but seldom do we have a new person in place before the old person leaves. That’s the way it is now , and Sharon has had to make a stretch from working days to working nights.

This is not easy for Sharon, working nights and working mostly in the deli. She’s really a morning girl and while she truly loves working in the deli she has a problem with her back that the deli work aggravates. But she’s already dug in and has worked the last two nights and she’s really quite excited about it. It gives her a chance to work with the nights shift guys and that’s great for fun for them all. Working in the deli at night reminds Sharon how much she loves the cooking aspects of her job and it’s just fun to be around her.

Also, by pushing herself and the others a little bit she has completely filled the Prepared Foods case with yummy dishes to go. There’s spinach and artichoke dip that’s great heated up, there’s Mediterranean Pasta Salad that’s one of her standbys, there’s Vietnamese chicken salad, and tomorrow night Jami is going to make a crusted striped bass served with salsa made from local fruits.

Fish tomorrow includes the return of Alaskan King Salmon and Wild Striped Bass from off the MA coast.

Fish arriving tomorrow:

  • Alaskan Cod, flash frozen at sea
  • Alaskan King Salmon
  • Wild Striped Bass
