I’ll list to the left

Hi Folks-

We’ve been without a working oven for the past few weeks and it’s been driving Sharon to distraction. Today we had our new stove installed and she rushed home to see it. Tonight we’re taking full advantage of the oven – Sharon’s making Chicken Provencal and a warm French Potato and Green bean salad with eggs, and a vinaigrette made with garlic, anchovy, capers, mustard and vinegar. The dressing smells fresh and pungent and I’m terribly happy about Sharon’s new all white stove that now matches our other appliances far better than the old beige stove. Not as happy as Sharon, however.

It’s getting very close to election day, and though I believe we lost a unique opportunity to have a principled man of the people as our president when Bernie Sanders stepped down, I’m now voting for Clinton and hope people turn out in large numbers to defeat Trump. There’s not enough Prozac anywhere to get me sanely through a Donald Trump presidency. I’d start talking to myself and listing to the left.

Oh my God, Sharon just walked in and gave me a bite of potato from her salad and it’s a fresh organic one from 1000 Stone Farm. It tastes so much better than a standard commercial potato you get at the supermarket. You simply have to try some. They’ll be available at the store all winter.

You should take advantage of the good weather the next few days for an outdoor grilling experience. For fish we have Striped Bass, as well as Yellowfin Tuna and Swordfish, wild Coho Salmon from Alaska or our beloved Shetland Salmon from Scotland. Or try our New England raised, grass fed Ribeyes or New York Strips. Enjoy the texture of an animal that’s walked around freely as it was raised, instead of an animal that has lived its entire life in an 8′ X 8′ stall, as is the case with standard beef. Again, there’s a difference.

Fish arriving tomorrow:

  • Alaskan Cod, flash frozen at sea
  • Alaskan Coho Salmon
  • East Coast Striped Bass
  • Dayboat yellow tail sole
  • Sustainable Shetland Salmon
  • Dayboat Haddock
  • Swordfish
  • Icelandic Arctic Char
  • 16/20 Wild Gulf Shrimp
  • 10/20 Dry Scallops
  • Fresh squid, tubes and tentacles
  • PEI Mussels

See you at the Store!
