Having fun with peter

Hi Folks-

Well I have to tell you I am digging having weekends off with my guy Peter. We’d been about a year with one of us each working a weekend morning, which when you think about it means we didn’t have any days off together. When we started the Market it was all hands on deck all the time until we started to break and realized okay, time off is important. We factored family and friends back in about two years ago. It feels positively refreshing to have time together off, not at the market. I must say I think it speaks highly of our relationship that we can work together so much and still crave time together away from work… Anyway yay us :-)!

I made pad Thai with the new sauce and it came out pretty well, I left the rice noodles soaking a bit to long so that wasn’t perfect and, unbelievably I forgot the mung bean sprouts. I was excited to have them, our new sprout provider is so great. Adding them in the next day worked. I put some pad Thai recipes on the bulletin board at the market if you want one. It’ll work great if you follow the directions, sauce is fabulous.

Great foods in the case tonight, Turkey enchiladas, Ham and potato dish from Julia Child, George’s tomato soup, cheesecake, peanut noodles, all kinds of goodies, remember when you don’t feel like cooking it’s okay, we already did.

On the fish note, swordfish pricing was out of sight, as was predicted, so we didn’t get any this week. You can always special order it. We did bring in Mako Shark which can be cooked in a similar fashion and has a pleasant mild flavor.
