What a gorgeous weekend, perfect for a party ;-). And it was a very fun party, Poor Peter seemed to enjoy himself immensely. We actually had quite a few kiddos and that just adds a nice vibe, not to mention the giggle sound track.
Having grilled my way through the weekend I am taking this gray day as an opportunity to throw together a little fresh pasta sauce. Butter, a little onion and garlic ( I think a couple anchovies tonight too), chopped fresh tomatoes simmered for about ten minutes, salt and pepper and then finished with a hand full of torn fresh basil and diced bits of fresh mozzarella. The trick with the mozzarella is to dice it up and stick in the freezer first thing. Right before serving stir in the mozzarella, it melts just enough to soften but doesn’t turn into Stretch Armstrong. I love the pasta we carry at the store, Garafolo. The flavor is so good that it can actually be eaten straight up with out butter or cheese.
A few spots left in the wine tasting! This is a lovely event with tons of food, great wines to try and a convivial cast, 3 to 7 on Saturday the 20th. The weather is looking great but we are quite capable of running it indoors so we are a rain or shine event. Stop at the store for tickets :-).
