Apres wine tasting and some good eats!

Happy election Eve! Trying to decide whether I should find a place to celebrate or maybe hole up in case things go south. I love the fact that I have already voted!

We had a marvelous wine tasting this past weekend. People seemed to truly enjoy trying and learning about the wines. Quite a few people asked about the food we served, which is great and made me realize that perhaps folks don’t realize what a dab hand we are with party platters. We do anti-pasto platters, charcuterie platters, gravlox platters, killer cheese boards(brie and fruit, artisanal Vermont, themed) to name a few. We do need a little notice but with a day’s (or three) notice we can definitely hook you up with some first class fare. Something to keep in mind for the holidays.

If you are feeling creative and more in the DIY mode we are also super happy to help you put together appealing combinations of meats, cheeses, crackers, jams. etc so that you can wow guests with your creations. Honestly our store was made for this and it’s one of my favorite things to think about, so ask any time (well maybe not right at lunch when I’m on the register ;-).

So the day after the wine tasting I am always beat. I don’t get out of my slippers, I don’t leave my house, I just barely read my book and the food needs to be super easy. What I made was Smoked Gouda noodles (I really love how that sounds). If you have tried our Smoked Gouda dip, you know where I’m headed with this, if you haven’t, the dip is made of cream cheese, Smoked Gouda cheese, Parmesan, garlic, scallions and black pepper. So this dip, slightly warmed in a skillet, add hot egg noodles, fettuccine, whatever, a tiny bit of pasta water and oh boy, super delicious. So we made some for you too at the store, you’re welcome!
